“Annual Influenza Workshop” was organized on 10 February, at National Institute Of Public Health, Kosovo*. Participants from sentinel sites, epidemiologist, infectologist, pediatrician, specialist from IUC, pulmonologist, GP, and representatives of NIC where gathered to retrain/ refresh influenza focal points from all ARI, ILI, SARI sentinel sites on influenza surveillance, sample collection and transport, data management and outbreak response.
The main discussions were focused on timely reporting importance, problems during this season and sentinel needs, epidemiological situation and virus characteristics during this season in Kosovo* comparing with other countries.
Conclusions and recommendations:
- Strengthening the collaboration through periodical meetings and exchange the experiences
- The need for compilation of rapid response protocols and needs based on the recommendation
- Organize periodically meetings and trainings during influenza season.
