Wrap-Up Meeting on Leishmaniasis in Albania

This meeting was organised by SECID in the framework of the project ’Strengthening the Epidemiological Surveillance, Diagnosis and Treatment in Syrian and Afghan Refugees and general population in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Pakistan and Albania’, supported by CORDS and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

The aim of the meeting was to analyse the key gaps, key findings, priorities, recommendations and follow up in relation to the gold standard of WHO guidelines for Europe, on Leishmaniasis in Albania and recommendations of project follow up.

This meeting took place at the SECID offices in IPH, Tirana and was attended by Leishmaniasis Albanian working team: (specialists from IPH, specialists from Food Safety and Veterinary Institute and clinicians from University Hospital Center ‘Mother Teresa’), as well as by James Crilly – SECID consultant.

The inputs, discussions and comments of the meeting will be reflected in the final report on leishmaniasis in Albania.
