National Workshop in Romania

23-24 October 2014

Within the framework (of the second year) of the Project “Surveillance and Response to Avian and pandemic Influenza by National Health Authorities of Countries of South East Europe” in Romania, on 23-24 October 2014 took place a National workshop with epidemiologists, family doctors and clinicians involved in ARI, ILI and SARI surveillance.

This workshop was organized by The National Institute of Public Health (INSP), Romania - The National Centre for Communicable Diseases Surveillance and Control, in collaboration with INCDMI Cantacuzino.

The theme of the workshop was “The results of ARI, ILI and SARI Surveillance in the season 2013-2014 and releasing the methodology of ARI, ILI and SARI Surveillance for the 2014-2015 season.” The presenters of workshop were members of the team designated for project implementation. This national workshop also represented a good opportunity to rise awareness about the major public health alerts, as influenza AH7N9, AH5N1.
