The “Country Workshop to discuss Influenza Surveillance” was organized on the 5th March 2014 in Podgorica, Montenegro in the framework of implementation of the “Surveillance and Response to Avian and pandemic Influenza by National Health Authorities of Countries of South East Europe” Project. The workshop took place in the Institute of Public Health of Montenegro. The participants in the workshop were epidemiologists and infectiologists from IPH and hospitals.
Dr. Artan Simaku—Influenza Coordinator, IPH Albania and Ms. Jonilda Sulo—Assistant for Project Management SECID/IPH Albania, participated as well in this workshop.
The presentation “What is SECID and CDC support to Regional Initiative of strengthening Influenza Surveillance and Pandemic Preparedness in SEE countries” prepared by Dr Silva Bino, Regional Development Center of Surveillance and Control of Infectious Diseases, IPH Albania was presented in the workshop by Ms. Jonilda Sulo. The Influenza Surveillance System in Montenegro was presented by Dr. Bozidarka Rakocevic. Afterwards two separate working groups have been setting up to discuss about surveillance assessment. Their conclusions were presented in the plenary session at the end of the workshop.
