The “Country Workshop to discuss Influenza Surveillance” took place on the 29th-31st January 2014 in Pristine, Kosovo*, within the framework of the Project “Surveillance and Response to Avian and pandemic Influenza by National Health Authorities of Countries of South East Europe”.
The participants in the workshop were epidemiologists and virologists from NIPH of Kosovo*, regional hospitals and emergency centers. The importance of reporting in time of the infectious diseases cases was emphasized in the workshop; the participants updated the knowledge on influenza cases management, on complications prevention, hospitalization, strengthening of diagnostic capacities etc.
A mission of WHO EURO (Dr. Diane Gross) also attended the workshop and made a capacity assessment of NIPH laboratories. SECID’s representatives participated in this workshop as well.
