On the 15.06.2017 in NCIPD, Sofia was held expert meeting on topic “Web based information system for reporting hospitalized cases of acute respiratory disease” within the fourth year of the project “Surveillance and Response to Avian and Pandemic Influenza”, funded by Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and executed by “Southeast European Centre for Surveillance and Control of Infectious Diseases”.
Representatives of different public health organizations and hospitals attended the meeting.
During the meeting Dr. Radosveta Filipova presented the latest developments of the surveillance of Influenza and acute respiratory diseases in Bulgaria.
The attendees were informed about the functionalities of the SARI application and information obtained from the hospitals selected to upload data about their SARI cases to the pilot system.
Also were discussed strengths and weaknesses if SARI will be introduced for season 2017/2018 in one or two pilot regions. Finally all participants agreed that additional efforts are needed before the application will be ready to serve the surveillance system at national level.
