The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Association of Public Health Laboratories (APHL) invited two specialists from laboratory of IPH Albania to visit a U.S. public health laboratory.
This site visit that took place from June 5 to June 10, 2017, in Emeryville, CA, USA was organised in the frame work of the CDC/APHL SEE Quality Assurance Mentor Program and it was based on Albanian specialists’ laboratory’s exemplary performance throughout the mentorship program over the past year.
The goal of the site visit was to observe practices and policy implementation, test methods and shadow specific laboratory staff to help further Albania mentorship action plans. This visit helped generate ideas and offer clarity to mentor recommendations that Albanian specialists could bring back to further develop Albania IPH laboratory.
