Training on Influenza surveillance, Kosovo*

According to the action plan of the fourth year of project “Surveillance And Response To Avian And Pandemic Influenza”, funded by Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), on 20-21 March 2017 at National Institute of Public Health (NIPH), Kosovo* was held the training on “Influenza surveillance and outbreak coordination – including new sentinel sites”. At this training participate sentinel sites representatives, epidemiologist, infectiologists, pediatricians, pulmonologists and GP-s. During the training  with participants it was  discussed , influenza activities, reporting system, laboratory confirmation, collaboration between institutions and other important issues related to strengthening influenza surveillance and case management.

In the training were invited two representatives from IPH of Albania (one epidemiologist and one laboratory specialist) They share with Kosovo* colleagues their experience regarding surveillance system of ILI, ARI and Sari in Albania, sentinel surveillance system (organizational structure) and new approach, evaluation system of sentinel sites, epidemiological situation in Albania  and virological surveillance system.
