Croatia, Influenza workshops

In the framework of the Project ‘Surveillance and Response To Avian and Pandemic Influenza’, Grant Nr. 5U51IP000841-03, funded by Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), three workshops have been organized in Zagreb, Croatia: 

SARI sentinel centres coordination meeting on 27 May 2016. In this meeting colleagues from Bosnia and Herzegovina were invited in order to see the respecitve expiriences in SARI surveillance and to exchange latest information between each other. The participants had a lot of positive ideas how to improve SARI sentinel systems. It was concluded to  make tradition each year this meeting between two countries.

SARI sentinel centres coordination meeting held on 28 June 2016 tried to establish advantages and disadvantages of the sentinel system and make guidelines for further work to improve SARI sentinel system.

Annual Influenza Coordination Meeting of Vet and PH is organized on 12 July 2016. The meeting highlights interesting results of animal influenza viruses. There are established four sectors of influenza in animals(birds, pigs, horses and house pets), which are covered by the veterinarian specialist. Based on the meeting  results it was decided to organize each year coordinating  meeting between PH and Vet, as well as to  have good coordination during the whole year.
