Sentinel ILI sites workshop in Macedonia

On the 29th September 2015 in the premises of the Institute of Public Health (IPH)-Skopje, a one day  workshop for sentinel ILI sites (old and new ones) was organized with 30 participants from 6 ILI sites selected in 2014, as well as 9 new ILI sites from 2015 and corresponding regional centers for public health.

During the workshop methods for sampling, storage and transport were presented by Dr. Golubinka Bosevska. Dr. Gordana Kuzmanovska presented methodology of sentinel surveillance in comparison with regular surveillance, and Dr. Vladimir Mikik presented case definition, flow of data and four different forms which need to be full fill on site level.

At the end of the workshop each sentinel site and each regional health center receive package of swabs, Virus transport medium, one package of masks, and few protective coats.
