The evaluation on multiple injectable vaccines in the same visit, after the introduction of inactivated poliovirus vaccine (IPV) in the national children schedule is a project implemented in close collaboration between Institute of Public Health Albania, CDC, WHO Euro and SECID. Its primary objectives are to:
- Assess whether health care providers and infant caregivers in Albania accept an immunization schedule in which three injectable vaccines are administered in a single visit
- Examine health care providers’ and caregivers’ acceptance of the introduction of IPV into Albania’s routine immunization schedule
- Identify the attitudes and practices of both providers and infant caregivers related to the administration of additional vaccine injections from IPV
- Based on the findings, provide a set of recommendations to guide future introductions of injectable vaccines in Albania
The project includes several activities, planned to be finalized in November 2015
The first activities, a two day training on June 23- 24, was followed by a field work test (on June 25), with the purpose of training and preparing the interviewers for the field data collection.
