This meeting was held in the framework of the project ‘Strengthening the Epidemiological Surveillance, Diagnosis and Treatment in Syrian and Afghan Refugees and general population in Jordan, Pakistan and Albania’, supported by CORDS and financed from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. The project is implemented by the Southeast European Center for Surveillance and Control of Infectious Diseases (SECID), the Middle East Consortium on Infectious Disease Surveillance (MECIDS) and Pakistan.
The kick-off meeting aimed to finalize methodology and standard for gap analysis on Leishmaniasis in Jordan, Albania and Pakistan and discuss and share plans of project implementations in three countries.
The participants (20 persons) of the meeting were experts (epidemiologists, infeticonists, entomologists, parasitologists, vets etc.) from regions/countries involved in the project, as well as from CORDS and Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
